1: Choosing a Big Four firm

You will need to decide whether to apply to a Practice or Industry route, as this will impact on your career progress later on. Our consultants will help you make up your mind by taking you on a step-by-step journey through the relevant pros and cons.

 

2: Support During the LIVE Application Process


If you have already applied and are engaged in the LIVE application process, we are without doubt your best hope of success. To help applicants demonstrate their full potential, Green Turn will assign each applicant a personal mentor, which will be a consultant who has already worked within their chosen firm.

 

3: The Main Application Process


This is where your journey really begins. It may seem like a long arduous process now, but when you’re finished you will be wondering how the time seemed to pass so quickly. Green Turn will ensure you submit a quality application and stand out from the crowd, by showing off that extra bit of skill and personality that makes all the difference. For you to fully understand the concept of transferable skills, a two-way homework session has also been implemented. All of the activities are conducted under the direct supervision of experienced consultants and overseen by the advisory board.

 

4: Psychometric and Aptitude Tests


Following a successful initial application you will then take numerical, logical or verbal reasoning tests depending on the firm, business area and route chosen. These are timed and supervised and you are likely to have to re-sit at least one of them at the assessment centre. You will attend one to one tutoring sessions at our premises, followed by detailed homework including various mock exams.

 

5: The Interview


Once successful in the reasoning tests, you’ll be invited for an interview that should last approximately an hour. Depending on the scheme you have applied, you will have a telephone interview followed by a one to one interview with a Big Four manager at your chosen office. Again, Green Turn will assign each applicant a personal mentor, which will be a consultant who has already worked within their chosen firm. You will benefit immensely from daily interaction with the network of professionals at Green Turn. The process involves taking several mock interviews before the attending real one, so that the relevant skills become second nature to you and you will feel at ease and in control on your big day. The skills and experience you will develop during preparation with Green Turn will remain with you for the rest of your career.

 

6: The Assessment Centre


The assessment centre is a combination of several objective selection techniques used to measure job suitability. At Big Four firms, it involves attending a venue alongside other candidates for a whole day which includes exercises such as e-tray/in-tray, psychometric, personality questionnaire, group, role play, report writing and presentation, concluding with a final partner interview.
