Deloitte has dropped the Etray exercise assessment completely for the year 2021 joiners for selective entrance routes, instead, Deloitte has introduced a rigorous interview process. The Deloitte's Job Simulation In-tray exercise comes in two parts: 

A. The ‘virtual office exercise’ is conducted through a computer-based email simulation program similar to Microsoft Outlook (hence the term online job simulation exercise). You will receive emails and voicemail messages to build up knowledge about various work-related situations. You are expected to successfully complete all tasks within the allocated one-hour time limit. Questions are presented in a ‘multiple choice’ format and your responses will be marked automatically by the Deloitte simulation software (scored in the range 0 to 5). 

B. In the ‘analysis exercise’, you will be using a computer based word processing simulation similar to Microsoft Word but without the spell check feature. You will be given project-based fictional information to review and write a detailed report to the client, to be completed within the allocated 40-minute time limit.

You are expected to write a succinct and well-structured report. Deloitte provides you with an informational booklet approximately half an hour before the test, but this short period of time is nowhere near enough in which to prepare. You need the relevant information and guidance well in advance.

Your performance during the in-tray exercise will be kept on a permanent record and used during Deloitte’s final deliberations to determine whether or not you have got the job.
