Note: Most trainees pass their professional qualification exams in the first three years of joining the firm. However, for few qualifications the trainee position internship’s duration is inherently long e.g. ACCA trainees take four years to qualify. Sometimes trainees defer or fail their exams which would result in taking additional exam attempts and qualifying in their fourth or even fifth years.
Once a trainee has passed all of his professional qualification exams he would then automatically move on to the ‘Experienced Hire route’ salary term within the firm.
