Deloitte ETRAY Exercise Guidance To Pass In First Attempt

Deloitte Etray (In-Tray) Exercise: Pass at Your First Attempt

Congratulations on passing the aptitude tests! Approximately 90% of applicants won’t have made it this far, so you’re already doing exceptionally well! Now it’s time to takeit to the next level.

An Overview:

Stage seven of the Deloitte application process is the‘in-tray exercise’, which is part of the assessment centre process. At the assessment centre, you will be undertaking both in-tray and role-play exercises. You will also be re-taking the numerical reasoning test and one of the verbal or diagrammatic reasoning tests.

Deloitte Etray In-Tray Preparation:

After choosing a convenient date from the options offered to you by Deloitte, you will typically have between one and two weeks to prepare. As we all know, job tests can be daunting and how can you be fully confident of putting in a perfect performance if you lack Big Four experience? As long as you can demonstrate passion and endeavor, we will give you the support you need to land your dream job.

Deloitte Etray In-tray Competency Criteria:

Deloitte have designed the in-tray exercise to assess you against their key competencies criteria. The test will be time-limited, so you must be able to withstand pressure. Our training will ensure that you are fully confident and prepared for any eventuality. Imagine the embarrassment and panic caused by ‘freezing up’ during the Deloitte in-tray exercise and you’ll realise just how important this is.

Although Deloitte do list key competencies criteria on their website, they don’t provide many details on the initial and follow-up questions you can expect to face. However, you can draw on the experience of our experts, who have previously worked for Big Four firms, to give you a major advantage in this area.

Deloitte Etray Test Details:

Deloitte’s in-tray exercise simulates a real office environment, featuring various real-time office tasks such as replying to emails and filling out spreadsheets. The relevant software has been developed for the company by Cubiks, a renowned global HR consultancy that publishes various psychometric tests for Deloitte worldwide. Deloitte has considered

Deloitte has dropped Etray exercise assessment completely for the year 2016 joiners instead Deloitte has introduced a rigorous interview process. However for few service lines the Etray exercise could still be assessed. If you are not asked to attend assessment centre then please skip and instead read the Partner interview guidance page for further details on the final interview assessment.

In the updated Etray exercise version, you will be involved in various real time office tasks such as responding to emails after analysing client information and compiling graphs, charts and spreadsheets.

Deloitte provide some of their own guidance on the assessment centre eTray exercise, which you can access on their website here.

Deloitte has produced a PDF document containing hints and tips on the eTray exercise, which you would access an access to on their website prior to your assessment.

If you are invited to attend Deloitte intray assessment then ensure to practice a free etray exercise on the Cubiks website, accessible here.

The Deloitte in-tray exercise comes in two parts:

A. The ‘virtual office exercise’ is conducted through a computer-based email simulation program similar to Microsoft Outlook. You will receive emails and voicemail messages to build up knowledge about various work related situations. You are expected to successfully complete all tasks inside the allocated one hour time limit. Questions are presented in a ‘multiple choice’ format and your responses will be marked automatically by the Deloitte simulation software (scored in the range 0 to 5).

B. In the ‘analysis exercise’, you will be using a computer based word processing simulation similar to Microsoft Word but without the spell check feature. You will be given project based fictional information to review and write a detailed report to the client, to be completed within the allocated 40-minute time limit.

You are expected to write a succinct and well-structured report. Deloitte provide you with an informational booklet approximately half an hour before the test, but this short period of time is nowhere near enough in which to prepare. You need the relevant information and guidance well in advance.

Deloitte Etray Test Results:

Your performance during the in-tray exercise will be kept on permanent record and used during Deloitte’s final deliberations to determine whether or not you have got the job. It’s more than possible to successfully get through this stage by attaining a passing grade, yet fail to secure employment when Deloitte recruiters take a look at your collective performances over the whole application process.

Deloitte grade your ability on each stage between 1 point and 5. It is assumed by Deloitte that if an applicant can demonstrate ‘core capabilities’ and attain the full 5 marks during the assessment centre process then they automatically become a perfect match for the firm.

This means you need to score the maximum 5 points on every single stage to set yourself apart from rival jobseekers and cannot afford to take a job test without having been properly prepared by Green Turn.
