Ernst & Young assessment centre consists of full day tasks which you would perform at the Ernst & Young office. Ernst & Young has tried to portray an experience of typical work related scenarios on various exercises.

The main tasks you’d expect to take at the Ernst & Young assessment centre are listed below;

a. Ernst & Young Group exercise – You will attend a group exercise at the EY assessment centre. Depending on which service line you choose you would receive a topic of discussion either prior to attending the EY assessment centre or on the day. You will be asked to research on the topic and get ready for the open group discussion on assigned topic at the assessment centre.

The group exercise will be carried out as a part of group to assess your team working and coordination skills amongst other skills set. You will be expected to work as a team and reach a final conclusion from the task at hand. You will all receive a standard “information pack” to build up knowledge about the topic, which is expected to be shared and worked upon as a team. Read More.

b. Ernst & Young Reports Writing Case Study exercise –The objective of this exercise is to assess your business writing, vocabulary and communication skills. This is a critical factor to be observed when dealing with the high profile clients as you’d expect to operate professionally with the Ernst & Young clients at work all the time. You will receive a company / topic related information in an “information pack” and expect to summarise and conclude on all important points, in a professional matter within the tight time frame. c. Role Play exercise – You will be assessed on an Individual Role Play exercise. On the EY assessment day you will be given a “Reporting Pack” which you’d expect to quickly go through and pick up on errors. As part of Role Play you will make a phone call and present either to Ernst & Young Manager or Senior Manager who can then ask few probing questions to understand your business awareness and task keeping skills. d. Completion of Self assessment form – Ernst & Young will ask you to write self review feedback to check your understanding of how you performed against your actual performance. In addition you’d expect to give feedback about your experience of the Ernst & Young assessment day’s various exercises and generally about the Ernst & Young staff etc. Read More.

e. Lunch with colleagues – You will meet Ernst & Young trainees and seniors at lunch where you will discuss your questions, career aspirations and hear about their views of life at Ernst & Young. You will be assessed during your Lunch at Ernst & Young. Read More.

f. Ernst & Young Assessment Centre aptitude tests – At Ernst & Young you will ask to resit the aptitude tests at the assessment centre at the EY office. There are two streams of applicants one which are interviewed straight after the assessment centre by the Partner or in the second stream due to lack of Partner’s availability applicant would get invited on a separate date. Your final interviewer will be a Partner or Director and the final interview will be carried out at Ernst & Young’s premises.
